The biggest limitation of electric cars when driving on the road is the lack of sufficient chargers, and for this reason the European Community has promulgated a law so that by 2025 there will be 150 KW fast charger stations for electric cars on the main roads of Europe, and with a separation between them of less than 60 km.

A map of these roads can be seen in the photo below.

And the European standard also puts another series of conditions to favor the freedom of users when using these chargers.

At these charging stations we can pay with electronic means (cards, etc...) and we will not need any kind of subscription to use them. In other words, they will be stations accessible to everyone without exceptions.

And in addition, operators must display their prices clearly also by electronic means, and report charging waiting times and the availability of chargers. With the aim that customers know in advance what they are going to find.

I think it is a good measure with the intention of maximizing the use of electric cars, since in Europe transport is responsible for 25% of gas emissions, and cars are 71% of that figure.

This standard is within what has been colloquially called "Fit for 55", to try to reduce European polluting emissions by 55% by 2030.

It seems that European legislators are taking the issue of the Climate Emergency somewhat seriously, but I think that European citizens are unfortunately not sufficiently aware.

They should be made to see the serious problem that we face, and the urgency of solving it.
