In the case of robots, the positive expectations of market forecasts continue to be fulfilled, and especially of “mobile” robots that are dedicated to moving things from one place to another. This market has increased its sales by 53% in the year 2022.

And what is best for them is that they are expected to continue like this until beyond the year 2027. By that date, it is estimated that more than 4 million mobile robots will be installed around the world.

Mobile robots, which include AGVs (automated guided vehicles) and AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) are experiencing spectacular growth, as can be seen in the graph below.

Robots began as fixed devices that carried out different, more or less complex and always repetitive operations, and over time they have become mobile devices capable of moving things, and in many cases autonomously.

With the development of Technology, now a small robot can be placed with a great calculation capacity so that they carry out complex operations by themselves, and every day they are capable of assuming more complex responsibilities.

Where this industry is growing the most is in China, both in manufacturing and sales. Already in the year 2021 China surpassed the US in the density of robots. This is a metric that measures the number of robots in the industry for every 10,000 workers.

This means that China no longer lowers the prices of its products for having low wages, but for having more automated industrial processes, and that makes them more and more competitive with each passing day.

But despite all this increase in robots, there is still a lot to improve in process automation, as it is becoming more intelligent every day and allows us to tackle more special tasks, and eliminate some risks to the health of workers.

That said, the robots niche will continue to be a field of good opportunities for those who know how to take advantage of them for a long time.
