If we want to defend our freedom, we must defend journalists, and unfortunately the number of journalists imprisoned in early December 2021 reached a maximum of 293 worldwide.
And many others (too many) were killed for doing their job. At least a total of 24 in 2021. Unfortunately this is a trend that has been increasing in recent years.

Dear friends, this is a clear indication that our world is less democratic and those of us who are lucky enough to live in a democratic society must defend all journalists in the world, so that they are not imprisoned for carrying out their work objectively.
I ask you to think a bit about how important it is to have objective news, and people and organizations that defend our freedom and that of all. For doing this work, some journalists are imprisoned, and from my heart I want to dedicate my reflection today to them.
