Today we all use office applications in our day to day, and as Microsoft and Google are the undisputed leaders of these applications and want to continue to be so, they have announced that they are going to include the help provided by AI as in the case of ChatGPT .

Microsoft has announced the Microsoft  Copilot  that includes: Word, Excell, Power Point, Outlook and Teams, but with the help of AI and at a different price of course.

And Google has done the same with the announcement of the new  Worspace  that includes the applications equivalent to Microsoft (Docs, Sheets, Meet, etc...)

In the business world, Microsoft is the one that dominates this market, but Google also has many users, which perhaps now could increase. And both fight to stay ahead of the others.

At present, AI is in fashion, especially after the change produced by ChatGPT, which has made everyone see some practical scope that hardly anyone expected so soon.

Hundreds of millions of users use office applications every day, and for the two companies that dominate this market, it is essential to remain at the forefront of it. And the AI is a nice push in that direction, and it will serve to differentiate them even more from the rest.

It remains to be seen how the changes that will appear in these applications will be and how they will help their users, but I am quite clear that it will give them a greater ability to eliminate repetitive tasks, and therefore be more efficient in their work.

What seems to be an important difference with respect to current applications is that these new applications with AI will be installed in the manufacturer's cloud, and consequently all the information generated by the users will be stored in said cloud on the company's servers.

And I think that it is also a "fundamental" change because the users will be totally in the hands of those providers (Microsoft and Google).

It will be necessary to see what the clients say, and if they are capable of forcing these large companies to offer off-line applications so that everyone can store the information where it is best for them.

Time will tell.
