There are robots of all types and for almost all applications, but the ones I like the most are those that display greater simplicity or versatility. And this is the case that I am going to comment on today, I like the way of moving on two wheels, on almost any type of terrain, and with great savings in energy consumption.

This is the  Ascento Guard  robot presented by the start-up Ascento. It is a robot specially designed to carry out surveillance, inspection, etc. and that it is capable of moving over uneven terrain very easily, due to the agility that comes from moving only on two wheels and with a very good stabilization system.

Below you can see some photos of it.

Its stabilization system on two wheels allows it to move on almost any surface, including going up and down stairs, and all of this with a certain speed and without high energy consumption, so it can be operational for longer.

And to increase this operability, it can go to its battery charging place by itself, and thus remain operational most of the time without the need for human attention.

A video can be seen at: https://youtu.be/4hj18IT1gE4

It weighs just under 30 kg and works for almost 5 hours. It has cameras (thermal and infrared), GPS, microphone and speaker to communicate orally with people, etc….

This robot seems like a good idea to me, which does not seem to be very expensive (the company also hires it by the hour, like any other company does with human security guards), and for which many applications can be found in almost all types of terrain. I wish them the best.
