I have seen with surprise and pleasure that an English company has presented a new way of obtaining electricity from the wind, and without using wind turbines placed many meters above the ground.

The company is called  Katrick Technologies   and you can see its website at:

They have devised a different system that uses ducts that air passes through, and these ducts have small fins that oscillate with those bursts of air. And that oscillation is mechanical energy that is converted into electrical energy.

The oscillating blades are made of a light and resistant material, such as aluminum or plastic, and are designed to oscillate with a harmonic movement, which is what provides maximum efficiency to the electrical generator.

The operating principle is based on the kinetic energy of the wind. When the wind passes through the ducts, it causes the slats to oscillate. This movement is transmitted to an electrical generator, which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.

These panels are quite easy to manufacture, install and maintain. They are also less visible and quieter than traditional wind turbines, and are very easy to place in urban environments, where the turbines are not operational.

A video can be seen at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CG7E1STsoJE

In a world increasingly concerned about climate change and dependence on fossil fuels, renewable energy has become a global priority. Wind is an abundant and clean renewable energy source, but its use in urban environments is complex.

This company's proposal is different, and its efficiency and profitability must be proven. It has the disadvantage that the panels are static and do not orient in the direction of the wind, and this partially limits energy generation.

But in general the idea seems good to me, and we will have to carry out the necessary tests to see in which situations its use is profitable. I think we should congratulate the friends of Katrick Technologies for their idea, and wish them the best.
