For those who, like me, are unaware of the world of online games, I would like to inform them that there are more than 1,000 million people who use different online games. Which is a very broad market to offer all kinds of products and services.

And one of them is the world of fashion. Increasingly, online fashion is being offered so that a person can “dress” their avatar in a game, or to appear dressed in a suit in an online conference when in fact they are in a T-shirt at home. Today, almost anything is possible.

Both Nike, Ralph Laurent and other fashion companies offer us online products to be used virtually and for people to "dress" in them in the virtual world in which they find themselves.

They are very cheap products (for a few dollars) because they do not physically exist and do not have to be manufactured, and people like to be dressed in a different way for little price. That is in a way the core of the business: reaching many people who pay a small amount for many things.

And if we consider the many hundreds of millions of people who play, we can see that the market is huge. Morgan Stanley estimates that by the year 2030 the virtual fashion market will represent more than 50 billion dollars.

This movement is somehow related to the famous metaverse, but in reality I think it has more to do with the virtual worlds in which each one moves. On the Internet there can be as many “worlds” as there are websites.

LVHM is the largest fashion group in the luxury sector (it owns companies like Dior, Louis Vuitton, etc…) and has already said that this is not their market, that they are not interested in selling virtual sneakers for 10 dollars. And it appears reasonable.

But many other companies are entering fully. If you enter the DressX website    https://dressx.com/    you can see that by uploading your photo they offer you a multitude of possibilities to obtain different and original aspects.

This is a new world where designers have many possibilities to earn income for their creative work, without being dependent on making their models. But like all businesses, nothing is easy.

I liked the idea of being in my pajamas at home and being able to participate in an online conference dressed in an elegant suit. There everyone with their tastes.
