We all know how CO2 emissions affect Climate Change, and the measurements that are made today with satellites are too global and with little detail. Therefore, the CO2 that we suffer is known, but not how much the largest emitters of CO2 emit and how these emissions evolve.

For this reason, a new satellite called GHGSat https://www.ghgsat.com/fr/     is going to be launched to measure in detail and in a specific way the CO2 emissions made by the largest emitters: cement plants, power generation plants, etc …

When things are measured, they can be controlled and somebody can try to improve them. Without accurate data there is no improvement possible. And I suppose that this is the objective of these satellites, to measure and see the evolution over time of the largest emitters of CO2 into the atmosphere, in order to be able to apply the necessary corrective measures.

These satellites will have a high resolution, up to 25 meters above ground level, so they are capable of measuring the emissions of the main polluters. And since it is also very well known where the facilities are located, emissions can be carried out quickly and easily.

If someone objectively is able to accurately provide the respective governments with the CO2 emissions made by the industrial plants in their territory, they can pressure them to reduce and try to eliminate said emissions.

In general, we have the tools, and new ones are being put in place to measure and control how and who destroys our environment. But the political will is needed and the appropriate stepsbe taken to try to reverse this situation.

We will do it ? I have very serious doubts, and I think that what will be done will be done when it is already too late. I would like to be wrong.
