A vaccine is a preparation intended to generate acquired immunity against a disease, by stimulating the production of antibodies. This is a definition of a vaccine.

Before vaccines were introduced, many thousands of people died around the world from various diseases.

The first smallpox vaccine was created in 1796, followed by 7 new vaccines in the 19th century and 18 new vaccines in the 20th century.

Vaccines have lowered mortality around the world and in part made possible the improved health we now enjoy.

In recent times, an anti-vaccine movement has appeared that has grown a lot because of Covid-19 and the multitude of false news spread by social networks. In 2019, the World Health Organization listed anti-vaccine movements as one of the main threats to global health.

The anti-vaccine movement is not homogeneous and has different arguments with the common trait of rejecting vaccines because they question their effectiveness and consider that they are more harmful than beneficial to their health.

I believe that they have their right to do so, as long as they assume the consequences of their actions responsibly, and that they do not harm the rest of society.

Let's see what happened with Covid-19. A new disease appears with which many people are infected and die. There have been several million deaths in a short time.

In record time, several vaccines have been achieved that have proven to be reasonably effective, which have been applied to most of the population (in the most developed countries) with positive results, reducing infections, hospital collapses and deaths.

To try to eliminate the risk of future infections, the entire population should be vaccinated, and if a part does not get vaccinated because they do not want to, they are a risk for the rest.

I believe that the freedom of others ends where mine begins, and vice versa.

Therefore I ask anti-vaccine people to let me know so that I do not go near them, and consequently I propose that they wear a kind of badge.

Something pretty, flattering and visible from far away, such as yellow glasses

If all anti-vaccines used this symbol, or another that they like better, the rest of the people would feel safer by staying away from them with ease.

Please those that are anti-vaccine be responsible.

Thanks
