I like smartphones that are rather small (with no more than 5-inch screen), although I recognize that the market is going the other way, and most smartphones sold today are larger than 6 inches.

That's why I like the new models from Samsung and Motorola that fold, because once folded they fit perfectly in a shirt pocket. The problem is that they are still very expensive, and the closing hinge has some time to improve to become more reliable.

And recently I have seen with great satisfaction the news that Lenovo (it is the company that owns Motorola) has presented a novelty that may not take long to reach the market. It is a Smartphone with a drop-down and roll-up screen.

It seems that it will appear on the market under the Motorola brand, and that it will compete against the folding model of the same brand.

The idea is very good. It is about offering a small 4-inch Smartphone, which by pressing a side button, the screen unrolls and enlarges to 6.5 inches.

It is a new possibility that will take some time to hit the market, but I think the idea is very good. And it remains to be seen how reliable the screen is when rolled up and unrolled, the quality of the images and the resulting price.

But with the passing of not much time, other companies will appear with more or less similar versions, and it is possible that in a few years we will be able to enjoy small-sized smartphones at a reasonable price again. At least that's what I hope.

It's all about time
