Livestock farming is one of the main sources of environmental pollution in the world. In 2018, the livestock industry was responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions, more than international transport. Livestock farming is also a major contributor to deforestation, land degradation, and water pollution.

What few people know is that five countries are responsible for half of the world's livestock contamination: China, Brazil, India, the United States and Argentina. These countries have large cattle populations and are also the largest producers of meat and dairy products in the world.

It is therefore that acting as a priority in those 5 countries would help to significantly reduce global pollution generated by livestock. And that shouldn't be difficult at all, since 4 of them have the capacity and financial means to do so.

There are a number of things that can be done to reduce pollution caused by livestock farming. One of the most important is to reduce the amount of meat we consume. We can also choose sustainably sourced meat, such as pastured meat or organic meat. In addition, we can support companies that are working to reduce their environmental impact.

But on the other hand, the Administrations of the countries should help farmers, and also force them to take the necessary measures to reduce the contamination generated by livestock. Only with good will things are not achieved.

The PROBLEM (with capital letters) is that no Administration of any country takes the CLIMATE CRISIS that we are suffering with due seriousness and due urgency.

There is a lot of talk, something in which politicians are very expert, but as soon as a patch is put, the "PROBLEM" is launched to take its course.

Unfortunate but true !!!
