Obesity is a global health problem that affects more than 650 million adults. It is a risk factor for a number of chronic diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

Current treatments for obesity include diet, exercise and medication, in addition to surgery. However, these treatments may not be effective for all patients.

A team of researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has developed a new capsule that vibrates and can be ingested to treat obesity. The capsule, called Vibes, is designed to stimulate the nerves in the stomach and cause a feeling of satiety.

The capsule is small and flexible, and made of a biodegradable material. It can be swallowed with water or juice. Once the capsule reaches the stomach, it begins to vibrate at a frequency of 25 Hz. A prototype can be seen in the photo.

The vibrations stimulate the nerves in the stomach, which send signals to the brain indicating that the stomach is full. This reduces appetite and helps patients eat less.

In a clinical study, patients receiving the Vibes capsule lost an average of 5.8 kg in six months. Patients who received a placebo lost an average of 2.5 kg.

Researchers believe that this capsule could be an effective new option for the treatment of obesity. The capsule is safe and easy to use, is non-invasive, and has no known side effects.

Researchers are currently continuing to develop the Vibes capsule for future commercialization. And I think it's a very good idea.
