Technology often helps people with special problems to function more easily in their daily lives, and one type of person who need help are the blind. Currently there is a lot of help for them, and I recently saw the news from a company that has presented an idea that seems simple and practical to me so that these people can move more easily through different environments.

The company is called Glidance and the robot has a minimalist design and basic functionality, but is powerful enough to help blind people move safely and independently.

Glidance weighs only 2.5 kilos and is 30 centimeters high. The robot has a front camera that allows it to detect obstacles and people. It also has a distance sensor that helps you maintain a safe distance from objects.

The robot is easy to transport from one place to another and has an autonomy of about 6 hours, with the drawback that it only moves on smooth surfaces (it does not climb stairs), and the cost they have announced is around 2,000 euros.

The robot has AI support and is capable of remembering the routes it takes most frequently. It has GPS to take the desired routes, it can connect with your mobile phone, and send and receive audio messages.

It is a reasonably economical solution, when compared to the cost of a guide dog, and could be used by many blind people. The company hopes to put it on the market within a year. Let's hope they comply.

I think it can be a good tool that can help many people at a reasonable price. I wish them the best.
