The irruption of Open AI and its already famous ChatGPT bot has brought about a revolution in the world of the Internet, and it remains to be seen how far its influence will reach an important part of this market.

After little more than two months of its appearance on the market, ChatGPT already has more than 100 million users and most of them ( myself included ) are positively surprised by the information it provides to the questions of those users.

The system is capable of offering detailed and reasoned information on a question that is asked, and it does so with AI tools and using the enormous information available on the Internet.

The information that ChatGPT offers is still somewhat limited, but it is rapidly improving with use, and we immediately saw the enormous possibilities that it can offer for Internet search systems, which Google dominates to this day, and which also is their main source of income and profit.

Among large companies, Microsoft has been one of the first to react and has invested 10 billion dollars in Open AI, supposedly to somehow integrate ChatGPT with its Internet search engine (Bing), and try to make it more widely used by the users.

And how could it be otherwise, Google has also responded quickly by saying that it is going to integrate an AI response capacity into its Internet browser, and has called it Bard. And they have promised to make it available to users in a “few weeks”.

This change, which can be very profound, can greatly modify the way information is obtained on the Internet, and hence the reaction of large companies, especially Google, which could play an important part in its future. Google's largest income comes from the information it obtains (and sells) from the searches we do on the Internet.

And if that changes, EVERYTHING could change. Which leads me to another thought, and that is that no one has a guaranteed position in the market. Since even the almost almighty Google has seen the threat getting closer, and in a few months it could lose the dominant position it occupies today in Internet searches.

Google has significant AI capabilities (it has shown it in the past with very relevant projects) and it is expected that it will react quickly to try to maintain its position in the Internet search market. A lot is at stake.

In a short time we will see what happens, and no doubt will be interesting.
