Worldwide, prostate cancer is the fourth most diagnosed, after breast, lung and colorectal cancer. And since it only affects men, for us it is one of the biggest causes of death.

Until now, men were recommended to have a PSA (prostate specific antigen) check-up starting at age 55. It is a simple test that if the data obtained exceeds a certain level ( 4 ) it can indicate a prostate problem, but it is not definitive and leads to many errors and scares among those affected.

In 75% of the cases in which the PSA is positive, the results of the biopsies or other analyzes are negative, and this generates anxiety and concern in the affected people.

That is why I found the news very interesting that in a short time it will be possible to detect prostate cancer through a simple blood test. The test is called Prostate Screening EpiSwicht PSE) and according to the first results its accuracy is of the order of 94%

The researchers believe that measuring PSE levels in the blood could provide a more accurate test for detecting prostate cancer. In a recent study, researchers compared the levels of PSE in the blood of men with and without prostate cancer. The results showed that men with prostate cancer had significantly lower levels of PSE compared to men without prostate cancer. In addition, the researchers found that the combination of the PSA test and the PSE test was more effective in detecting prostate cancer than either test alone.

And they also found that the combination of the PSA test and the PSE test was more effective in detecting prostate cancer than either test alone.

Initial tests have been carried out with 147 participants and the results have been published in the  Cancer  magazine, which has a worldwide reach.

We can only hope that this type of diagnosis reaches the market as soon as possible, because the sooner a disease is detected, the easier it is to control and fight against it.

I think it is very good news from which half of humanity will benefit.
