After the first days of euphoria following succeeding a positive result for fusion energy with a test in an American laboratory, common sense is taking over and almost everyone recognizes that nuclear fusion energy is not going to get us out of the problem of climate change that is upon us.

As a joke told among physicists very well says: nuclear fusion is 30 years away, and it always will be. And that is because for more than 50 years some “optimists” announced the proximity of obtaining abundant energy from nuclear fusion. But the reality is very stubborn, and we are still a long way from having abundant and sustainable energy.

As I said before, responsible people have not taken long to appear who assure that the problem of Climate Change is not going to be solved by nuclear fusion, and that we have to solve it with the means at our disposal, which are not few.

If we do not take the appropriate measures, and we are not taking them because there is much talk and very little is done, we are going to achieve a 2Cº increase in the average temperature of our planet, and we will suffer heat waves, floods, fires, sea level rise, etc. which we have already begun to experience.

When nuclear fusion power arrives, we will be around the year 2100, or perhaps further away, it will already be too late for many people and if we have done little to prevent it, our earth's climate will already be out of control and we will have problems that today don’t even cross our minds.

I will not see it, but I am sure that my grandchildren will suffer the consequences of our stupidity and selfishness.

As I say so many times, time is usually the fair judge that puts everyone in their place, but in this case many poor people are going to pay the consequences of the waste of the richest in this world. The world is so unfair.
