Very few people know how Amazon has helped Ukraine during its war with Russia. And it has helped them in a very smart way, moving the country's sensitive data to the Amazon cloud. Because, once the data is in the cloud, it can no longer be destroyed by missiles or any other type of weapon.

Until now, in wars, the invading armies destroyed the archived data of the countries and a lot of sensitive information was lost that was necessary for the day-to-day life of that country. But in this case, both Ukraine and Amazon have acted quickly and, above all, discreetly, to transfer a lot of information to the Amazon cloud.

It is information related to taxes, bank accounts, documents owned by citizens, data from the Government, companies and universities, etc .... that allow the normal functioning of any country.

Amazon has special boxes called  Snowball Edge  that are loaded with digital data and transferred to Amazon facilities, to place that information in the Amazon cloud (Amazon Web Services), which is one of the largest in the world

They are reinforced boxes that can store many gigabytes of information, and that information is later transferred from the box to the cloud.

The entire operation has been carried out very stealthily, with Snowball Edge boxes being moved from the Ukraine to Poland, and from there to the rest of the world, ending up in the Amazon Web Services cloud.

This is one of the reasons why Ukraine has been functioning almost like a “normal” country despite being in the midst of a war with many of its facilities bombed.

And when this situation has become known throughout the world, many other countries have turned to Amazon to convey their interest in having this type of service.

Whenever there are problems, opportunities appear for those who know how to take advantage of them. And in this case, Amazon has acted quickly and well, and has allowed Ukraine to continue to function as a country, despite the damage received.
