Many of us know the queues that formed at the entrance gates in many airports in certain countries, and it seems that this will be a thing of the past in a very short time with the use of facial recognition technology.

It is already implemented in many airports around the world and it will be the tool that will be used in all the USA for the access of the passengers that arrive there.

It has the advantage of its speed and flexibility, and the disadvantage of the possible privacy problems that it can create.

Today we have facial recognition implemented in our mobiles and many people use it in their day-to-day applications. To pay an invoice, or to carry out any other transaction.

The privacy advantage of this system is that the information of our image is on our mobile and is not shared with anyone. When our image is made available to a governmental organization, they already have it forever, and we don't know what they may use it for in the future.

I like the system that they are going to implement in the USA, it is easy to use, practical, fast and works well in 99% of cases, so it is logical that it should be imposed all over the world. We cannot stop using technological advances, and at the same time we must avoid their misuse.

From now on when you enter the USA, when you arrive at the customs area, a camera takes a photo of your image and compares it with the ones it has stored from all arriving flights. And in an instant they know who you are without the need for us to show our passport.

In the case of US citizens, these photos are deleted 12 hours after entering their country, but for foreigners this information remains forever available to the authorities. And so over time they will have greater control of all foreigners who circulate through the country.

Facial recognition technology is already highly developed and highly reliable. COVID-19 gave it an important boost because it works without the necessary physical contact, and every day we will see it used in more applications, both public and private.

And it is very clear that it will accompany us for a long time.
