I was very surprised by the presentation of the new humanoid robot from Boston Dynamics because of the things it is capable of doing, and what this represents for the technical advancement of robots in general.

Although the property of the Boston Dynamics company has gone through different owners since it ceased to belong to Google, its technicians have not stopped innovating and presenting new models with new and improved capabilities. Which shows continuity and is appreciated.

The latest version of his Atlas robot is capable of doing things not seen before, and especially his new abilities of perception and manipulation of objects.

The robot, apart from moving on two feet, is capable of visualizing objects of different shapes and sizes, to manipulate them and take them from one place to another, obeying the oral instructions of a person.

The robot, apart from walking, also jumps, runs, dances, goes up, down, somersaults in the air, is capable of overcoming obstacles, etc... and all this with an agility that not many people have.

I suggest you to watch the video: https://youtu.be/-e1_QhJ1EhQ

Despite the capabilities shown here, Boston Dynamics experts say we're still a long way from robots being able to perform real-world tasks that are dangerous to humans, but there's no doubt that very positive steps are being taken toward doing so.

And the folks at Boston Dynamics continue to be on the cutting edge of robotics technology.
