As all vehicles are looking for their electric version, it has also happened to the jet ski segment. There are several on the market that already work with electric motors, but I was surprised by the announcement of the Bouvet Marione company that has presented its version of a high-end electric jet ski.

They have designated it with the name of Supermarine MM01 and it has spectacular specifications. It is made of carbon fiber and Kevlar to reduce its weight, and it even has a container to carry a refreshing drink inside. If it's champagne, better.

Because to have this electric and aquatic motorcycle you have to be willing to pay more than 200,000 dollars. And paying that money a person can afford to go through the water at more than 70 knots (more than 120 km/h) for 2 hours and be able to recharge the battery in less than an hour. And also the lucky owner will be able to drink a few glasses of champagne at sea, something that very few can do.

The company plans to manufacture a limited series of 30 units for the first lucky ones who can afford it, and deliveries are scheduled to take place in 2024.

I comment on this product because of its high exclusivity, and because it is almost certain that the few units that are going to be manufactured will be sold in a short time.

The world of high luxury is special and very different from the rest, and purchase decisions are made (I guess) to point out the difference between its owners and other mortals. And they pay what they have to pay to do it, be it a car, a watch or a jet ski.

Money is something that these people have in excess (or that does not cost them much to earn it) and they want to feel different. And owning very exclusive and very expensive things is a way to make it highly visible.

This reflection is not a criticism, but an observation of our reality. Human beings apparently are like that.
