Indeed, no matter how painful it may seem, the killer robots will continue without having any type of regulation because many countries, and especially the largest, are not interested.

The United Nations proposed a long time ago (in 2017 in Geneva) to have a code of conduct so that killer robots were subject to rules of behavior.

But in the last meeting a couple of months ago, several countries led by the USA, India and others, opposed presenting an alternative in which they proposed to sign a proposal for a non-binding code of conduct.

In other words, a "paper" on which to write a few generalities without obligation for anyone, and that allows things to continue as they have been before, in which everyone can do what is best for them.

As a representative of the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, so well put it, states have missed a historic opportunity to guarantee human control over the use of force, and prevent a world in which machines make decisions about life or life. death of people.

It is very hard and very regrettable that the interests of nations are not in the defense of human life.

Little by little we are losing our own humanity, and it is not because of technology, it is because we abandon our responsibilities, passing them on to machines.

Poco a poco vamos perdiendo nuestra propia humanidad, y no es por culpa de la tecnología, es porque nosotros hacemos dejación de nuestras responsabilidades, pasándoselas a unas máquinas.

The next step will be to say that we are not responsible for anything.
