Just a few years ago, talking about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in business seemed like a conversation reserved for large multinational technology companies. Today, the reality is very different. AI has made a strong entry into practically every sector, and it has done so at a much faster pace than personal computers or the Internet were implemented.
The latest reports published by Deloitte and Stanford University agree on one fundamental point: more than 85% of organizations already use Artificial Intelligence in some part of their operations. However, the results obtained are still, in many cases, more modest than expected. The great challenge is no longer testing the technology, but rather scaling it and integrating it effectively throughout the entire organization.
The main objective of companies remains the same as always: to improve their efficiency. AI allows for the automation of repetitive tasks, streamlines administrative processes, analyzes vast amounts of data in seconds, and provides better customer service. Furthermore, it is increasingly used to support decision-making, although this remains one of the areas where organizations face the greatest challenges.
Implementing AI is not simply about installing new tools. It requires reviewing processes, adapting the company culture, and, above all, training professionals. Without skilled personnel, technology can hardly deliver its full potential.
In this regard, the job market is already sending very clear signals. In the United States, for example, of nearly seven million job postings analyzed recently, approximately 73% required practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence. Some profiles even demand experience in creating intelligent agents capable of automating specific tasks within the company.

This demonstrates that AI knowledge has ceased to be a differentiating factor and has become a virtually indispensable skill. Not everyone needs to become an expert in programming or data science, but it is essential to learn how to use these tools naturally and judiciously to improve daily work.
However, AI also presents significant challenges. One of the most relevant is the lack of transparency in the models. Large development companies keep much of their training methods and the inner workings of their systems secret. Consequently, companies and users utilize extremely powerful tools without truly understanding how they generate their responses or what limitations they have. This lack of explainability necessitates constant human oversight, especially when decisions affect customers, employees, or strategic aspects.
Added to this is another significant risk: using AI without a defined strategy. Incorporating these tools simply to follow a technological trend often leads to unprofitable investments and can even increase risks related to security, privacy, and regulatory compliance. Artificial Intelligence offers enormous opportunities, but it requires clear objectives, good data governance, and continuous training for the people who use it.
It is also clear that certain jobs will disappear or be transformed. Some companies are already reducing administrative tasks thanks to automation, and AI can sometimes be used as justification for staff reductions. However, history shows that every technological revolution eliminates certain functions but also creates new professions and demands new skills.
Meanwhile, global investment in AI continues to grow rapidly, with the United States clearly leading the way ahead of China and Europe. And all indications are that this trend will continue to increase in the coming years.
One conclusion seems indisputable: Artificial Intelligence is no longer optional for companies or professionals. Its adoption will significantly shape future competitiveness. But its success will depend not only on the technology itself, but also on the ability to combine innovation, strategy, training, and responsibility. AI can become an extraordinary ally, provided we learn to use it intelligently.
