Chinese car manufacturers are betting on vehicle safety to increase their sales in Europe. They focus on achieving the highest scores of the Euro NCAP regulations (5 stars) for their vehicles, which is the maximum that can be achieved.

In this way they want to convey to the market that their cars are safe, at the same time that they have competitive prices, and gain a foothold in the electric car market. Because, in that market they have the advantage that almost all electric car batteries are currently manufactured in Asia.

They have also begun to settle in the markets of northern countries (Sweden, Norway, Germany, etc...) which is where the most electric cars are sold. And by entering Germany, they enter the heart of the car market in Europe. The Chinese are not stupid.

In the year 2022, Chinese companies have sold more than 80,000 electric cars in Europe, which is slightly below 10% of the total number of electric cars sold, but which is already a significant amount. And by exceeding the European safety standards (Euro NCAP) in a short time they can change the mentality of buyers, and favor the purchase of their cars.

If we look at the main parts that make up an electric car in the photo above, we see that the battery is the fundamental differentiating component, with the internal combustion engine and the entire transmission system disappearing.

Therefore, the high levels of current electric cars are due to the price of batteries (mostly made in China), and the high margins that manufacturers put in to try to get benefits as soon as possible.

In the field of batteries, improvements are appearing in the market with a tendency to lower their prices, and if we see the websites of Chinese manufacturers, such as:

https://heyxpeng.com/

https://bydeurope.com/pdp-auto

https://www.aiways-mobility.es/

We can see that they offer models that are very similar to those of any top-level European or world manufacturer.

Offering reasonable prices and high levels of safety and quality, these new Chinese manufacturers are going to do a lot of damage to the Big Guys of world motorsport.

They will do this by offering good products, and no one will have any reason to complain. And we will see it in quite a short time.
