I have seen with great satisfaction the information provided by the Dutch Company Envision about glasses with Artificial Intelligence support to help blind or visually impaired people to communicate with the outside world.
The glasses are based on the Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 model, which are an evolution of those introduced by Google almost 10 years ago. They are smart glasses with an 8 MP camera, which are capable of seeing, reading and translating any type of text, and converting it into language so that it can be heard by the person wearing the glasses. In addition, they are capable of handling 60 different languages.
Besides reading text and translating it into language, they are also capable of differentiating objects, people's faces, and even scenes, and all of this is "translated" orally to the person wearing the glasses.

The glasses can work connected to a mobile or autonomously for a period of approximately 5 hours. And apart from helping to "see" the world, it allows its users to connect with other people and talk to them, through the built-in microphone and speaker.

The product is already on sale for just over 3,200 euros, and I think this is a great example of what can be achieved with the help of technology to help people.
I hope it reaches as many people as possible.
