Nautical company with zero emission products

It is interesting to see how companies adapt to social changes, and some are using the issue of climate change as a differentiating feature for their Products. This is the case of the company ZEN (Zero Emission Nautic Ltd.) which manufactures boats powered by electricity and do not pollute the environment.

They have just presented the ZEN50 model, which is a luxury electric catamaran that is manufactured in Barcelona and for which they have already received some orders. It is powered by solar panels placed along the deck, and I suppose it can also be powered through a connector.

It has an automatic system for raising and lowering the sails, and another for course control. The owner has little to do other than indicate the destination to be reached.

It has a length of almost 16 mt. (52 feet) and can carry up to 12 people. Its price is not at all cheap, since it is well over a million dollars, but shortly after presenting it, they have already obtained the first orders.

There are many people who have a lot of money, and we only have to see the huge ships that can be seen in various yacht clubs. And many people like to feel good by differentiating themselves and “feeling” that they are not polluting when they navigate. Because it is the feelings that have an important role when making certain types of purchases, such as a boat.

Just as everyone in the automotive world has turned to electric cars with zero emissions, this is happening with all types of vehicles. Electric bikes do not stop increasing their sales, the same as scooters, etc … 

The world of boats and planes is more exclusive but it is also changing. Small planes have a good chance of becoming electric, and the same goes for small boats. In boats it is easier since the increased "weight" of the batteries moves through the water with some ease.

In this world of change, those who first turn to these new zero-emission trends will be the ones who best position themselves in the market. The factor of speed of adaptation is very important in order to survive, and the people of ZEN have already taken the first steps.
