As someone interested in innovation and technology, I find the emergence of disruptive educational models fascinating—and at the same time, worrying. Today we focus on Alpha School, a Texas institution that has captured media attention by promising to double children's learning in just two hours a day, all with the support of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Alpha School, as described on its own website, is a school that champions a model that maximizes efficiency. They use AI to personalize the pace and content of learning, seeking to optimize the time children spend studying.

You can view the school's website at: https://alpha.school/

The concept is appealing: if AI can instantly identify each student's weaknesses and strengths, why not leverage it to accelerate their progress? The school claims this frees up time for other essential activities, such as play and social development.

And there's one point that I find very worrying: the speed with which this school is seeking to expand its educational model without external, long-term validation. It's premature to sign expansion agreements with other schools before independent educational bodies have conclusively confirmed that this system not only works but is also sustainable and healthy for students.

Innovation is vital, but when it comes to early childhood education, caution should be the norm.

And not all that glitters is gold. Promises of spectacular performance often come with risks. Reports and opinions from parents and educators have emerged indicating that children in these high-performance environments may experience increased stress and anxiety, with subsequent declines in performance.

Education is a holistic development process. A child's emotional and social well-being can never be subordinated to an algorithmic efficiency metric. A child's education is fundamental and not a game.

New technologies are incredibly powerful tools: they can empower teaching, but they can also cause harm if applied without a deep understanding of child psychology and pedagogy.

A child's education is one of the most important actions in their life and must be properly regulated, considering their well-being as a child and as a future adult.

I would think twice before sending a child to a school like this, as the potential harm is immense. New technologies can help, but they can also do a lot of damage if not used appropriately.

Children's education is not something to be taken lightly!
