{"id":800,"date":"2022-05-06T08:24:37","date_gmt":"2022-05-06T06:24:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/?p=800"},"modified":"2022-05-06T08:24:39","modified_gmt":"2022-05-06T06:24:39","slug":"la-nueva-ley-europea-para-las-big-tech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/en\/la-nueva-ley-europea-para-las-big-tech\/","title":{"rendered":"The new European law for Big Tech"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 18<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think it is good news that the European Union is regulating a law to establish rules of behavior that affect technology companies, and especially the so-called Big Tech, which are the ones that control a very important part of what happens in the world of technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are very powerful companies that have enormous amounts of money to buy those new companies that could compete with them in the future, and force other companies to use their tools to better control the \"data\" that moves around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new law will be published in October of this year, and it will take some time for it to become operational, but better late than never.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This law is called the <strong>Digital Market Act<\/strong>\u00a0 and aims to ensure that smaller companies can operate in digital markets without being eaten up by Big Tech before they can take off in the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Google-Meta-Amazon-Apple-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-801\" width=\"522\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Google-Meta-Amazon-Apple-2.jpg 450w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Google-Meta-Amazon-Apple-2-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Google-Meta-Amazon-Apple-2-18x10.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 522px) 100vw, 522px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few things are going to change: Users will be able to delete the APP's pre-installed by the manufacturers if they wish. The Internet giants will not be able to favor their own products in their search services as Google and Amazon do today. The messaging services of large companies must be compatible with others of smaller companies, and it will be the users who decide the APP they want to use. And etc, etc\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is about preserving some of the rights of users against the Big Tech, and at the same time favoring entrepreneurship and competitiveness in the market, with some \"rules\" as they occur in other types of businesses. It is about putting an end to the situation of the \"Wild West\" that prevails today in the digital and data world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, the big ones have already warned that a similar law can affect innovation, and blah, blah, blah... because they live much better without any type of law that can limit their excesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will have to wait a while to see the results of this law, but I think it is an important step in the right direction. And in the future it will be seen if more steps need to be taken depending on the results obtained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No market can be deregulated and the big guys (Big Tech) can do as they please.
