{"id":3131,"date":"2024-09-10T08:44:53","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T06:44:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/?p=3131"},"modified":"2024-09-14T10:54:54","modified_gmt":"2024-09-14T08:54:54","slug":"sistema-de-carga-inalambrica-para-coches-electricos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/en\/sistema-de-carga-inalambrica-para-coches-electricos\/","title":{"rendered":"Wireless charging system for electric cars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 1<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is well known that the need to charge a car by means of a cable and connectors is one of its limitations, especially when charging with high powers (of the order of 300 KW), because at these powers in general it is necessary to have a cooling system for the cables, which makes the system expensive and at the same time delicate, with high maintenance needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Different systems have been developed for a long time to charge electric cars wirelessly, but it is still not something normal, and the few existing systems offer small charging levels (of the order of a few dozen KW), so cars continue to be charged by means of cables and connectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not long ago I saw that the Oak Ridge laboratories demonstrated a wireless charging system for a Porsche Taycan with a power of 270KW, and that is a very important quantitative leap, since it is at the level of the best 350 KW fast chargers, and could charge the car in a few minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those who do not know, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is a research and development center funded by the American government, founded in 1943, and sponsored by the United States Department of Energy. It is a very important research center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most important feature of the system they have presented is its polyphase windings: lightweight electromagnetic coils arranged on a coil to generate a rotating magnetic field that eliminates current ripples and field cancellation. Which represents a significant leap forward in wireless car charging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advantages of high-power wireless charging:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Greater efficiency: The system developed by ORNL achieves 95% efficiency, surpassing single-phase systems in efficiency. This translates into a greater amount of energy transferred to the car battery and less energy loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Higher energy density: Polyphase coil technology provides more than 8 times the energy density of single-phase systems. This allows electric cars to be charged at a much higher speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Greater convenience: Wireless charging eliminates the need to connect cables and connectors, offering a more comfortable and faster charging experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Greater safety: Current wireless charging systems usually incorporate safety systems that prevent accidental energy discharge, offering greater safety for users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">. Less maintenance: The elimination of cables and connectors reduces the chances of wear and tear, reducing the need for maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Its disadvantages are high costs, and that the car must be placed on the charging system with considerable precision.
