This decision is not trivial, since it implies both control over the user experience and integration with other vehicle functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its new version of Car Play, Apple includes other additional screens in the car, and some manufacturers such as Mercedes have already flatly refused to accept it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The advantages of using Android Auto or Apple CarPlay are very evident:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Simplicity and familiarity: Users are already familiar with these interfaces, making them easier to use and reducing the learning curve.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wide range of applications: Access to a large ecosystem of entertainment, navigation and communication applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Constant updates: Google and Apple handle software updates and improvements, reducing the burden on manufacturers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reduced cost: Lower initial investment in software development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Coche-info-entretenimiento.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2899\" style=\"width:319px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Coche-info-entretenimiento.jpg 200w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Coche-info-entretenimiento-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/Coche-info-entretenimiento-12x12.jpg 12w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The arguments in favor of their own infotainment for car manufacturers are also very clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete control: Manufacturers can design a personalized user experience tailored to their specific make and model.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deep integration: Greater ease in integrating vehicle functions such as air conditioning, lighting or driving assistance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data access: Control over the data generated by the vehicle, which allows us to offer new services and improve the customer experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Independence: Less dependence on external suppliers, which reduces risks and increases long-term flexibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And something very important, total control of \u201ctheir business\u201d in the future<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The decision is not easy and depends on the priorities of each manufacturer. Some, like Mercedes-Benz, are committed to their own development to differentiate themselves and maintain control over the user experience. Others, like Volvo, choose to collaborate with Google to take advantage of the advantages of Android Auto while customizing the interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The problem for car manufacturers is that they are not software experts like Google and Apple, and the attempts they have made in the past have not been successful at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another problem is the growing importance of connectivity. The connected car is an increasingly present reality, and infotainment systems will play a fundamental role in managing connectivity and providing new services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, the new cars are true data collection centers, which can provide good benefits to those who control them.
