APPs have revolutionized the way we communicate, work, buy and have fun. However, this growth has also brought with it a series of challenges, including the employment situation of APP workers. What has been called the \u201cgig economy\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APP workers are usually self-employed or independent contractors. This means that they do not have an employment contract with the company that develops the APP, but rather they work on their own and are responsible for their own expenses. This employment situation entails a series of disadvantages for workers, such as the lack of social security, the absence of basic labor rights and job instability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response to this situation, the European Union is promoting a law for APP workers. This law, which is still being developed, aims to guarantee that APP workers have the same rights as salaried workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objectives of the law for APP workers are the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Guarantee social security for all APP workers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognize the basic labor rights of APP workers, such as the right to collective bargaining, the right to equal treatment and the right to protection against harassment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve the job stability of APP workers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"270\" height=\"180\" src=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Trabajador-repartidor.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2535\" style=\"width:387px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Trabajador-repartidor.jpg 270w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Trabajador-repartidor-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To achieve these objectives, the law proposes a series of measures, including the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A presumption will be established that APP workers are salaried, unless the company proves otherwise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It will be guaranteed that APP workers have access to social security, regardless of their employment status.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The right of APP workers to negotiate collectively with companies will be recognized.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discrimination and harassment at work will be prohibited.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standards will be established to improve the job stability of APP workers, such as the obligation of companies to provide a minimum number of work hours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Workers will have the right to access information about how the algorithms that control their work and how their decisions affect them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The law for APP workers would have a significant impact on this sector. The law would guarantee that APP workers have the same rights as salaried workers, which would provide them with greater job security and stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, this law for APP workers has been criticized by some large companies in the sector such as Uber, Deliveroo, and others. These companies argue that the law would make it more difficult for them to operate and could lead to job losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, most experts agree that the law is necessary to protect the rights of APP workers. The law would help ensure that these workers have the same opportunities for success as salaried workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dear friends, all of us who work want to receive a decent salary in accordance with our responsibility. We must be clear that if we want someone to bring any product to our house, we must pay the corresponding amount, taking into account that the person who performs that service also has the right to receive a decent wage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We need laws that prevent a few from becoming rich off the precarious work of many others.
