A new invention called a contact-activated laser lane is being designed to help keep cyclists safe by creating a visual cue for drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have seen that the idea of a new system to protect cyclists when riding on the roads has been published. It is about illuminating a laser beam on the ground on both sides of the cyclist so that it can be well seen by drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The idea came from a young student at Brunel University (London), who is a bicycle user and knows first-hand the risks he runs when he uses his bicycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The laser rail is a small device that is attached to the handlebars of a bicycle. It projects a laser beam onto the road in front of the cyclist and to both sides, creating a lane on the ground that drivers can easily see. The laser rail is activated by a touch sensor on the handlebars, so the cyclist can turn it on and off as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The laser rail is a simple but effective way to improve the visibility of cyclists on the road. It can help drivers see cyclists sooner, and it can also help drivers judge the distance between their car and a cyclist.
