Today I am going to comment on a company that makes cars but does not consider itself as a car company, but as a high-tech company that transports people and uses cars. It is a slight difference that totally changes the focus of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company is called Zoox<\/strong>, and the difference according to its CEO Aicha Evans (American and black woman) is fundamental, since she considers it to be a transport company that uses Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and other related technologies to fulfill its mission of transporting people<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And that makes their vehicle totally different from most autonomous cars, the shape of the vehicle is rectangular, the roof is transparent, it has no driver's seat, the sliding doors open on both sides, and at the outer corners the vehicle carries the sensors (cameras, Lidar, radars, etc ...) that allow it to circulate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The batteries are at the bottom and the motors are close to the wheels, being able to carry passengers at a speed of up to 120 km \/ h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And not long ago the company was bought by Amazon for 1.2 billion dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact of having conceived the car without thinking about the driver, and thinking that it is easy to be controlled by the AI, has resulted in an original and different design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have several prototypes circulating in San Francisco and Las Vegas, and within their strategy is to offer the possibility of shared transport to reduce traffic in cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like so many other transport attempts for cities, this is one more and the success they may have remains to be seen. And what is very clear is that taxi drivers have a very difficult future.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
