{"id":113,"date":"2021-11-01T07:46:26","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T07:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/?p=113"},"modified":"2021-11-07T07:08:08","modified_gmt":"2021-11-07T07:08:08","slug":"un-nuevo-concepto-de-ala-en-un-avion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/en\/un-nuevo-concepto-de-ala-en-un-avion\/","title":{"rendered":"A new wing concept on an airplane"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 53<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years, many start-ups have appeared that intend to gain a foothold in new flight modalities, both drones and small passenger planes (most of them electric), and they present their prototypes to obtain financing and see if they are capable of find their niche in a very competitive market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently I have seen the idea of the company <strong>PteroDynamics<\/strong> that seems to me really original and novel. These people use a wing in their aircraft that rotates and folds 90 degrees, so that the motors attached to the wing can support it like a helicopter or a normal airplane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A esa ala variable la han llamado \u201c<strong>transwing<\/strong>\u201d y es algo novedoso que ya han patentado. Han realizado varios prototipos a una peque\u00f1a escala ( sin llegar a los 4 metros de envergadura de ala ) y les han hecho volar por radiocontrol para analizar las caracter\u00edsticas del vuelo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A video can be seen at: &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/3uNboCgDOKQ\">https:\/\/youtu.be\/3uNboCgDOKQ<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most delicate part is the wing transition system, as it must be a very robust and fail-safe mechanism. In aeronautics, any type of failure is catastrophic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/09\/pterodynamics.jpg?w=749\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1772\" width=\"579\" height=\"791\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This type of aircraft has the advantage that when its wing is extended the lift is much greater and it can reach greater distances with the same battery in the case of a flight with electric motors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I say, the idea is original and could become operational, but there is still a lot of work to be done to have a minimally viable product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The V22 Osprey aircraft was designed with a different but somewhat similar idea (see photo below) and it took more than 20 years to fly with guarantees despite the fact that there was a large company behind the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.files.wordpress.com\/2021\/09\/v-22-osprey.jpg?w=1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1774\" width=\"623\" height=\"415\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It remains to be seen how PteroDynamics evolves, and if the project were viable it would not be unusual for the company to be acquired by a larger one with the economic means to be able to make a reliable aircraft<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time will tell.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 53 En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os est\u00e1n apareciendo muchas start-up que pretenden hacerse un hueco en las nuevas modalidades de vuelo, tanto de drones, como peque\u00f1os aviones de pasajeros ( la mayor\u00eda el\u00e9ctricos ), y presentan sus prototipos para conseguir financiaci\u00f3n y ver si son capaces de encontrar su lugar un mercado muy competitivo.
