{"id":108,"date":"2021-11-01T07:24:41","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T07:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/?p=108"},"modified":"2021-11-06T10:49:15","modified_gmt":"2021-11-06T10:49:15","slug":"nueva-planta-para-capturar-co2-de-la-atmosfera","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/en\/nueva-planta-para-capturar-co2-de-la-atmosfera\/","title":{"rendered":"New plant to capture CO2 from the atmosphere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 10<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is very clear that the solution for not having CO2 in the atmosphere is not to generate it through the use of non-polluting alternative sources, but since that will not happen overnight, and then any complementary alternative is good to be analyzed and tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Knowing that the best alternative is to stop polluting as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my opinion this is what is going to be done with the recently commissioned CO2 extraction plant in Iceland. The plant is called Orca and when it is at full capacity it will be able to extract 4,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere per year. <strong>Orca<\/strong> y cuando est\u00e9 a pleno rendimiento ser\u00e1 capaz de extraer de la atm\u00f3sfera 4.000 toneladas de CO2 al a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cost of the plant is between 10 and 15 million euros, and the CO2 it removes from the atmosphere is what 870 cars pollute in a year. Which gives us an idea of how important it is to \u201cnot pollute\u201d, and that we should invest in eliminating pollution, since removing it is very expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Orca-planta.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-109\" width=\"652\" height=\"407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Orca-planta.jpg 709w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Orca-planta-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/desdelaterrazadeamador.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Orca-planta-18x12.jpg 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 652px) 100vw, 652px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simply explained, the plant has large fans that make the outside air pass through filters that retain the CO2 to be then concentrated and injected at a depth of 1,000 meters below the surface of the earth where it is mineralized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a prototype plant to see results and learn how the process could be improved and made it cheaper, which, as I said before, is very expensive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are people who oppose these types of solutions because of how expensive they are and because some politicians are tempted to believe that it is possible to continue polluting with the idea that \u201cone day\u201d this pollution will be removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I believe that any alternative that improves the already highly polluted situation in our atmosphere should be tried, but it is true that we must insist that the solution is to stop polluting as soon as possible.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Views: 10 Est\u00e1 muy claro que la soluci\u00f3n para no tener CO2 en la atm\u00f3sfera es no generarlo mediante la utilizaci\u00f3n de fuentes alternativas no contaminantes, pero como eso no va a suceder de un d\u00eda para otro, y por lo tanto cualquier alternativa complementar\u00eda es bueno que sea analizada y probada.
